The Samsung Galaxy A80 Price in Nigeria is 355,000 Naira and this includes Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Rivers, Ogun, Oyo, Delta, Kaduna, Edo, Enugu, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Benin, Owerri, Warri.

The Samsung Galaxy A80 was a unique smartphone released in 2019 that stood out for its innovative rotating camera mechanism. Let’s see how it holds up in today’s market by examining its key features.

Display:

The A80 sports a large 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display. This translates to an expansive viewing experience for gaming, watching videos, and browsing. However, the resolution is FHD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels), which falls short of some newer mid-range devices that offer sharper QHD+ displays. Despite this, the Super AMOLED technology still delivers vibrant colors and deep blacks, making content consumption enjoyable.

Camera:

The A80’s most distinctive feature is its motorized rotating triple-lens camera. When using the rear camera, the module physically flips upwards, revealing the same lenses for both front-facing selfies and rear photography. This unique design eliminates the need for a separate punch-hole or notch for the front camera, offering a truly uninterrupted display. The camera system itself consists of a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, and a ToF (Time-of-Flight) sensor for depth effects. In good lighting, the camera can capture decent photos, but low-light performance is underwhelming due to the lack of a dedicated front-facing lens with a wider aperture. The motorized mechanism adds a layer of novelty, but it can feel slow compared to traditional pop-up selfie cameras and might raise concerns about long-term durability.

Performance:

The A80 is powered by the Snapdragon 730 processor, which was a mid-range chipset at the time of its release. Paired with 8GB of RAM, it can handle everyday tasks like social media, browsing, and streaming videos without issues. However, demanding games or heavy multitasking might cause some slowdown. Users who prioritize gaming performance might be better suited with a device featuring a more powerful processor.

Battery:

The A80 boasts a sizable 3700mAh battery, which is decent for a mid-range phone in 2019. With moderate usage, you can expect to get through a full day on a single charge. However, power users might need a top-up in the late afternoon. Unfortunately, the A80 only supports 25W fast charging, which feels slower compared to newer devices that offer much faster charging speeds.

Storage:

The A80 only came in a single storage option: 128GB. While this might have been sufficient in 2019, it feels limited by today’s standards, especially for users who store a lot of photos, videos, or music. Unlike some newer Samsung phones, the A80 lacks a microSD card slot for expandable storage, further restricting its storage capacity.

Software:

The A80 launched with Android 9 Pie and received updates up to Android 11. This means it’s no longer receiving the latest security updates and features from Google. On top of Android, Samsung’s One UI user interface offers additional features and customization options. However, some users might find it cluttered compared to stock Android.

Connectivity:

The A80 offers standard connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and GPS. However, it lacks support for the latest Wi-Fi 6 standard or 5G connectivity, which are becoming increasingly common in newer mid-range devices.

Sound:

The A80 features a single down-firing speaker. The sound quality is adequate for casual listening to music, podcasts, or watching videos. For an immersive multimedia experience, especially when gaming or watching movies, pairing the phone with headphones or external speakers is recommended.
